Rebuild a client website for free, and let them see it before anyone pays
If you already look after a business whose website is old, slow or hard to change, you can have it rebuilt for free: send a work order with their current website address, and we build the new site in 2 to 3 business days, gathering their words and photos from the old one. Every new site starts with a free 30-day trial, so the owner sees the finished site before anyone pays anything.
For you, that means a client you already have can get a better site without you spending days rebuilding it, and you keep your fee for setting it up and looking after it.
The client you already have is the easiest yes
You do not have to find a stranger or explain who you are. The owner already trusts you, and they can compare their old site and the new one side by side, on their own phone.
Say the whole price on the first day: the website's $30 a month, paid on the site, and your own fee. If they do not like the new site, nobody owes anything (Program Rules 3).
What to put in the work order for an existing site
The work order is the same free form, one per customer (Work Order). For a business that already has a website:
- put their current website address in "Current website";
- add their social and listing links (Facebook, Instagram, Google Business, Yelp…), which we also gather words and photos from;
- tick the pages and features the new site needs;
- add 1 to 3 screenshots of websites they like, with what they like about each;
- in "Words for the site" you can simply write "use the current website and social links".
Both ticks at the end are required: the owner agreed that you may send their details, and you may only use words, logos and photos the business owns or may use (Program Rules 2).
Before you show it to the owner
Check every page on your phone: name, phone number, address, prices and hours (step 6 of Your first $150). Things that were wrong on the old site can come across too, so this is where you catch them.
Then show the owner their new site next to the old one and let them change one thing themselves, so they see it is easy.
When a rebuild is not the right answer
If the client's current site works, they can change it themselves, and they are happy with it, a rebuild only adds work for them. Leave it.
A site that runs bookings, orders or member records in other software needs that software kept or linked; check what the business depends on before you suggest a new site. The trade guides say what each kind of business usually keeps.
A domain the business already owns stays theirs: iNterGine does not sell domain names (Program Rules 3). Moving the domain to the new site is a step to plan with the owner, after they have said yes.
Questions before you rebuild a client's site
Does the owner pay anything to see the new site?
No. Building it is free, and every new site starts with a free 30-day trial. If nobody subscribes, it closes by itself and nobody owes anything.
Can you copy their old website's words and photos?
We gather words and photos from the current website and social links you give us, as long as the business owns them or may use them.
What happens to their old website?
Nothing changes on it until the owner decides. The new site has its own address first (for example joes-pizza.intergine.com).
Can I keep charging my care fee?
Yes. You set your own prices, and iNterGine takes no cut (Program Rules 4).
